MORE TABLOID TRASH HINTS
Garfield was carved "coloring book style" and colored with Crayola makers.
PLASTIC SURGERY
What if you mess up the face or hand or eye or wing of an otherwise good
carving? I've done it plenty of times and sometimes I start over
and sometimes I just gouge out the mistake (actually I cut
straight down around the offending piece with an X-acto
knife and remove this plug) and then carve it again
(I reapply that portion of the xerox image to a scrap piece of
material and try again). If you get a better result - jimmy it back into the
empty space and you are in business.
This method works best if you are mounting your eraser carving material on
something like balsa wood or foamcore. Nothing says that a
carving has to be on one contiguous piece of carving stuff,
right? When you stamp it, it'll never show.
I've replaced more eyes than I can remember, I shoulda been a surgeon!
